Remember... you imp.

 There was a time when we were carefree, when all we had to worry about was whether we will be spanked for taking sweet from one “uncle”, or whether mum will know again that we have been playing when she went out (many have labeled their mum witches for that). Remember when you were the perfect imp, when as a kid;

1. You will sneak up to someone while he or she is sleeping and scream loudly in his or her ears.

2.     You run around in the streets with your white turn brown pants, stiff with dirt and sands, to play mummy and daddy with your friends and imitate elder ones you hate.

 3. You quietly sneak into the kitchen to steal meat and when you are caught in the kitchen you say you came to check for rats.

4. You know your mum had counted the meat but you still want some because meat stolen has a particularly delicious one, so you cut tiny pieces off each meat and carefully package each meat to make it look untouched.

5. You lie that you have been fasting during fasting period and pretend you are so tired when you get home when in fact you have had a huge meal in school through dubious means.

 6. You were given five naira by a visitor and you used it to buy kulikuli which is two for fifty kobo.

7. You were given a piece of meat to share with your elder brother but because you know he will cheat you, you took a huge bite before presenting it to him.

 8. You added water to the tasty time (fruit juice) when you stole some that it will remain on the same level.

 9. You will form macho with your friends when you are watching horror film with them but will creep into your parent’s bed at night because you were scared.

10. You quickly change your clothes before anybody will wake up when you wet your bed or you stupidly lie that rain fell on your bed at night, sometimes even believing the lie yourself.

11. You fall in and out of love like quicksilver according to what you get from people.

12. You do not give a damn what anybody thinks, you were just you.

Remember what it felt like to be carefree, going after what you want, caring fiercely about people you love.

Remember what it felt like to be happy, smile and laugh with abandon. Think about what it will feel like to be just you.

Think about how good it will feel like to stop sneaking in and out of this blog without commenting. Yeah, think.
